FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Rosie has collated a list of our FAQ's below. If you have a question that is not answered below then please send us your question here, and we’ll be happy to help

Are treatments painful?

It's normal to be anxious before injectable treatments. During your consultation Rosie will explain exactly what you can expect from the treatment you are undergoing. Some of the treatments are pretty painless, some require a numbing cream prior to injection. But most people find the treatments to be uncomfortable but very manageable. Rosie has a very gentle technique and is highly experienced in giving injections to people who have pain or have needle anxieties. Each treatment is performed at your pace.

What happens at my appointment?

The treatments involving dermal fillers are usually performed in 35-45 min appointment slots. The majority of this time is spent thoroughly discussing the treatment and answering your questions. The injections only last around 5 minutes. After the treatment you will be checked to make sure everything is perfect, then given after care advice and information of what to do if something does not feel right. Botox appointments are usually 20-30 minutes, skin treatments are 45-60 minutes.

How long will my results last?

The longevity of your results depends on the product used and the area of the face or skin that has been used in. The dermal fillers used in these procedures are premium quality and long lasting. Lips usually last average 6-9 months, dermal fillers in the cheek / jaw / nose / tear trough are usually 12-18 months. This will be covered specifically in your consultation. Lifestyle factors can also affect the longevity of your results. People who exercise a lot or spend a lot of time on the sun may require maintenance a little sooner than those who do not.

How will I know if it will suit me?

With so many extreme treatment results online it’s easy to worry about what the result may look like for you. Rosie is determined to deliver natural but noticeable results. Before any treatment you will have a bespoke facial analysis. From there you will be given honest advice about what you could expect from your results and where your limitations may be. Its important to see a practitioner that can respect those natural beauty ratios and help you work towards them, leaving you feeling beautiful, refreshed but still natural. After all, the best work is undetectable!

What will it feel like afterwards?

For Botox treatments, these are pretty much undetectable directly after the treatment as the injections used in this treatment are tiny. It is common for people to have this treatment on their lunch break and not show any signs of injections after. Dermal filler treatments commonly produce bruising and swelling after treatment as the injections are a little bigger. You will be given thorough aftercare advice on how to manage this. It’s also dependant on which area of the face has received treatment and how much you have received. Expect some swelling, bruising and localised tenderness after your treatment. These symptoms should all be mild and very easily managed.

What if something doesn't go right?

The more serious complications that can occur after injectable treatments are generally associated with dermal filler treatments. Although these complications are rare, it's extremely important that your practitioner has the skills, knowledge and resources to effectively diagnose and manage these complications. Rosie is a highly experienced Aesthetics Nurse and often updates her knowledge, skills and training in complication management. She has a medical emergency kit ready with protocols and is a member of the British Association of Medical Aesthetic Complications (BAMAC) and the Aesthetic Complications Expert Group (ACE). This means that as well as Rosie looking after you in the event of an adverse complication, you have a team of medics to call upon for support both locally and nationwide.

Do lip fillers hurt?

The lips are the most sensitive area of the face. When performing lip injections numbing cream is applied which means that although you can feel the needle, its more tolerable. The dermal filler used in the lips has local anaesthetic in it which also helps to make the treatment more comfortable. The injecting is very quick and the treatment itself lasts minutes.

How do I know if an aesthetic procedure is right for me?

The decision to undergo an aesthetic procedure should be made in consultation with a qualified practitioner. Rosie can help you determine if the procedure is right for you based on your goals, medical history, and other factors.

Who is a good candidate for skin boosters?

Good candidates for skin boosters include individuals who are looking to improve the overall appearance and hydration of their skin, but may not be ready for more invasive procedures such as facelifts or laser treatments.
